Top 3 TD Derby Point Earners - Weeks 1-2

DeAngelo Williams
By Keith Allison

DeAngelo Williams: 237 rushing yards, 66 receiving yards, 3 TDs (26 points)
With Le'Veon Bell currently serving a three-game suspension, Williams is certainly making the most of his time as Pittsburgh's every-down running back. The 33-year-old has been a steady force in both the running game and the passing game (1 receiving TD), and this versatility only adds to his TD Derby value. Unfortunately for Williams owners, his role will be significantly diminished upon Bell's return in Week 4. Barring a Bell injury, Williams will no longer be a reliable fantasy option.

C.J. Anderson: 166 rushing yards, 66 receiving yards, 3 TDs (25 points)
Another dual threat (1 receiving TD), Anderson is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2015 campaign, and he's off to a fine start. With the Broncos offense set to be more run-oriented in 2016 than it has been in recent years, Anderson could be in line for a career season.

Matt Forte: 196 rushing yards, 68 receiving yards, 3 TDs (25 points)
I guess Forte isn't in the twilight of his career after all. The 30-year-old's first season with the Jets has so far been an overwhelming success. In addition to his running prowess, Forte has always been a top-notch receiver. But perhaps the most encouraging statistic is that he has scored all three of the Jets rushing touchdowns, this after sharing goal-line work for much of the past few seasons with the Bears.

The Week Ahead

With Keenan Allen out for the year, Travis Benjamin will be asked to help fill the void. And he did just that last week, recording six catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Benjamin is quickly becoming Philip Rivers' new favorite target, and he should post another stellar stat line in Week 3, when the Chargers travel to Indianapolis to face a Colts defense that has allowed a league-high 36.5 points per game. The Colts have also given up eight total touchdowns, placing them in a tie for the NFL lead.
